CEREC – looking for an all ceramic dental restoration in only one office visit?
CEREC by Sirona Dental Systems is the world’s only one visit restoration. With CEREC and your dentist, you can be in and out in a single visit with a permanent, all ceramic crown, onlay or veneer! This means fewer injections less drilling, and less time out of your hectic schedule for dental care!
Most all ceramic restorations require 2 appointments, usually 2 to 3 weeks apart. This means, 2 appointments and 2 injections of anesthesia. Why go to your dentist for 2 visits? With CEREC, your all ceramic permanent restoration is completed in one visit start to finish.
Not only is CEREC convenient, it is also healthy. Many years ago, dentists used a material called amalgam to repair decayed and damaged teeth. With CEREC, the dentist uses strong, tooth colored ceramic material to restore your teeth to their natural strength and function. When you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates with this material that closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This can prevent the tooth from cracking. The materials are chemically bonded so the dentist can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.
CEREC is used for more than just fillings and crowns. CEREC is capable of producing any single tooth restoration. Discolored front teeth or chipped teeth can be repaired with beautiful porcelain anterior crowns or veneers. Enhance your smile with any of these CEREC procedures.
CEREC has a twenty year history. The equipment has helped dentists place over 6 million restorations. Using metal free materials, CEREC gives you the highest quality restorative care. Ask your dentist about single visit CEREC restorative care today!
Dr. Gruendel and Boles value YOUR time. Very few of us have perfect teeth, free of decay and fillings. CEREC is a method used by thousands of dentists worldwide not only to replace fillings, but also to restore any tooth that is decayed, weakened, broken, etc. to its natural strength and beauty. It is done with all-ceramic materials that are tooth colored in a single appointment. How does the CEREC procedure work?
First, Dr. Gruendel or Dr. Boles examines the tooth to determine the appropriate treatment. It could be a single filling or a full crown, depending on how much tooth structure is remaining and the clinical judgment the Dentist. Next, Dr. Gruendel or Dr. Boles administers an anesthetic and prepares your tooth for your all ceramic restoration, removing decayed and weakened tooth tissue. The preparation is the same as any other restorative technique.
Then Dr. Gruendel or Dr. Boles takes an Optical impression of the prepared tooth. Instead of filling a tray with impression goop that you must bite into and hold in your mouth until it hardens, the Dentist coats the tooth with a non-toxic, tasteless powder. A camera is used to take a digital picture of the tooth. This whole Optical impression process takes only a minute or less. The porcelain block is then loaded into the Milling Machine. The milling process takes 15 to 20 minutes and results in a beautiful all porcelain (ceramic) restoration which is cemented into your mouth and you are on your way with a permanent restoration in only one visit. Your total time in the office varies from one to two hours.
